Jose "Pepe" Hernandez Ocasio, age 78, of Bridgeport, passed away on December 30, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital.  Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico, he was the son of  the late Ramon Hernandez and Vicenta Ocasio. A  life long Bridgeport resident. Jose worked in the custodial department of the Y.M.C.A. He enjoyed gardening, dominos, cooking and was an avid fisherman. Family meant everything to him and he was a loving, husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Lydia Maldonado, three  sons; Juan Hernandez,  Jose  Hernandez and his wife Judith, and Carlos Hernandez.  One daughter, Elizabeth Clayton, three brothers; Juan, Jose and Manuel Hernandez, two sisters; Carmen and Leonarda Hernandez, nine grandchildren, Jose, Anthony, Alyssa, Ricardo, Emily, Jackson, Amanda, Julian and Christian and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday Jan 4, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
