Obituary

John E. Perham Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, peacefully with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 72 years. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre with infantry from France thru to Belgium. He and his wife owned and operated John E. Perham Opticians in Fairfield for many years. He was a member of St. John's Lodge #3 in Fairfield also a member of the Pyramid Temple Shrine. John was the past president of the Fairfield Lions Club. John enjoyed golfing and bowling as a member of the Tashua Knolls Golf Club. John leaves his beloved wife Barbara (Raymond) Perham of Litchfield, a son John E. Perham Jr. and his wife Judith of Cheshire. Granddaughters; Jill Davenport and her husband Bill of Litchfield, Jennifer Mello and her husband Rob of Litchfield, Grandsons; Scott Perham and his wife Kristen of Bristol and Glenn Perham of Boston. He also leaves behind great grandchildren; Megan and Allie Davenport, Peyton and Carson Mello and Zephyr Perham. He was predeceased by a son, Robert W. Perham (U.S. Navy). Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
