John Michael Marinko, age 69 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Liz Corso Marinko. Born in Bridgeport on October 24, 1956 he was a son of the late Albert Marinko and Shirley Dunn. John was employed by CT plywood as a truck driver for many years. 

In addition to his devoted wife Liz, John will be sadly missed by his step son, Jason Parry of Stratford, his step daughter, Stefanie Parry of North Haven his sisters; Theresa (Ronald) Costanzo of Bridgeport and Elizabeth (Roger) Bernard of Surprise Arizona. Also his brother David Marinko of California. He is also survived by his granddaughter Mikayla Marinko of Stratford, cousin Donna Bakshys of Milford, niece Kelly Marinko Paine of Ormond Beach Florida and nephew Jaime Paul Lamb and his wife Stephanie of Arizona In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Marinko and brothers, James, Albert and and Christopher Marinko. 

The hours of visitation will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest with his son Michael in Gate of Heaven Cemetery privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society
