John “Cool” Joseph Lombard, age 76 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Kathleen Evanski Lombard. 

Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1950 he was a son of the late Richard and Margaret Judge Lombard. Cool retired from the City of Bridgeport as the Housing Code Enforcement Inspector after 30 years of service. Prior to his civil service career, he was a truck driver for Coca-Cola and Carrano’s Express of Northford. He was a talented carpenter that could build or fix anything. He loved his Corvettes and was an avid reader, he would read the newspaper daily cover to cover and do the crossword puzzles in minutes in ink. 

In addition to his loving wife Kathy, he is survived by his son John Lombard of Stratford and his sister Linda Lombard of Seymour. He was predeceased by his brothers; Patrick and Thomas. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Care Connections for their exceptional care of John.
