John L. Laufer, age 91 of Lordship passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving daughters at his side. He was the widower of Rachel DiMeo.  Born in Stratford on May 10, 1930, he was a son of the late John and Anne Chuma Laufer. John proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was a production manager for many years at Country Home Bakery until his retirement.  John enjoyed his daily routines, which always included driving and being outdoors, he enjoyed his Friday night poker games with his nephews and going to see his sister on Saturdays.  He loved to work in his large garden and cook for his family, especially his Sunday meatballs.  He will be sadly missed by his daughters; Barbara Lill, Laura (Rich) Yatsinko and Nancy (Mario) Anzalone all of Stratford.  3 sisters; Eleanor Christiano, June Riccio and Barbara Marshall.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Richard Lill, Joe Raslavsky, Sam Wellington, Dan, Stephen and Sarah Yatsinko, as well as 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his beloved wife Rachel, he was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Raslavsky, his brother, Donald Laufer and his sister, Marge Barbary. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM meeting directly at St. Joseph's of Stratford National Catholic Church.  Interment with full military honors will follow in the St. Joseph's of Stratford Cemetery.
