John D. Kennedy Jr. age 87, of Milford passed away on Monday October 13, 2014 at Milford Hospital. Born in Schenectady , New York he was the son of the late John D. Kennedy Sr. and Althea Johnson Kennedy and had been a Milford resident since 1965. John served his country proudly in WWII serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He worked as a salesman for Wise Potatoes Chips and A&P / Walbalms before his retirement. He enjoyed reading, football and all sports. John was an avid UCONN fan. Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley Ann Johnson Kennedy, his devoted sons, Brian Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy and John Kennedy III and his wife Kimberly all of Milford. His sister Patricia Wysocki and husband Louie of Fairfield , three loving grandchildren, Connor, Tyler and Matthew Kennedy and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday October 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Koonea Lee, Pastor of the Stratford Methodist Church officiating.
