John L. Caporaso Jr. age 70, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday October 10, 2013 on his birthday at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 10, 1943, John was the son of the late John L. Caporaso Sr. and Teresa Russo Caporaso and was stepson to the late Ralph Carrano. He was a graduate Norte Dame High School class of 1960 and worked in the quality control department of Dresser Industries and Carpenter Steel before his retirement. John enjoyed sports, reading, classical music, the seashore and playing the piano, but his most love came from being with his family who survive him, his beloved former wife Donna-Rae Caporaso of Stratford, his devoted children, a daughter, Lina M. Caporaso and her companion Rocco D'Urso of Stratford, two sons, John L. Caporaso III of Stratford and Jeffrey Caporaso and his wife Desiree of Shelton, a loving grandson, Rocco and two adopted sons, Christopher and James Caporaso. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 14, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
