John Philip Bott, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 1, 1940, in New Haven, Connecticut, he was a son of George and Vivian (White) Bott. John's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
John became a successful salesman at Joseph Merritt Co., where his charm and work ethic endeared him to colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional pursuits, he proudly served in the Navy, carrying the values of duty and honor with him throughout his life.
John shared a profound love with his wife, Linda Bott, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage. Together they raised a loving family.
John is survived by his beloved daughter Amy Bott, sons, John Bott Jr., Troy Bott (Nancy), Christopher Bott, and Roger Tiberio (Jodi); grandchildren, Stephanie Bott, Ryan Bott (Desiree), Kevin Bott (Angela), Jake Tiberio (Josie), Kadee Tiberio, and Braden and Josh Tiberio and their mother, Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Carter Bott; sisters, Connie Wadi and Polly Eagan, as well as his sister-in-law, Janet Hobocan (Ken). He is also survived by a host of beloved nieces and nephews. John is lovingly remembered for his kind spirit, infectious smile, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
He was predeceased by his son, James Tiberio, and brothers, Geo Setreus, Ronald Bott, and George Bott. His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
We would like to send a special thank you to "his Ang" for her loving support and nursing care especially in his final days.
Friends are invited to greet the family at the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615 on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 12-3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor at St. Mark Church, 530 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, CT 06614 on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting the giving spirit he embodied throughout his life.
