Joan von den Driesch Frye Boyer, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughter and "other daughters" on December 16, 2024. Born February 28, 1959 in Valhalla, NY to the late Albert and Sheelagh (Boyd) von den Driesch.  Joan was very loving and caring to everyone she knew. She was the person you needed in your corner during difficult times.  Joan will be remembered as a woman of grace, kindness, acceptance of others, and unwavering love.  Her joy, laughter and silliness will never be forgotten. She will be truly missed by so many.

Joan took such joy in taking care of her treasured granddaughters, Sophia and Lily.

She is predeceased by her parents, her grandmother Violet Boyd, sister Carol Rosse and uncles Charles Boyd and Donald von den Driesch. The family finds comfort knowing that she is surrounded by her family in heaven.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Perillie, son-in law Michael Perillie and her beloved granddaughters Sophia and Lily, brother-in-law Earle Rosse, niece Kathleen Sperry (Taylor) and great nephew Clark, cousins Catherine and Matthew Griffin and Pen and Luke Morrison.

Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main Street Stratford, CT 06615. The burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook.

Joan loved music and was often listening to the Beatles or Sting. For those that cannot attend her service the family asks her loved ones to listen to their favorite music to celebrate her life.
