Obituary

Jo-Ann Stiliha, age 71, of Stratford, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday August 2, 2014. Born in Bridgeport on January 22, 1943 she was a retired sales associate at Lord & Taylor. Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years, Roger A. Stiliha of Stratford, her two daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Charles Moyher of Milford and Cheryl and John Colucci of Trumbull, her father, Andrew Piluso and a brother Anthony Piluso both of Uncasville, three grandchildren, Nicoletta Colucci, Andrew Colucci and Charles Moyher and a nephew Anthony Piluso Jr. She was predeceased by her mother Antoinette Piluso. Her extended family includes three step-grandchildren, Talia Moyher of Virgina, Kyle Moyher of Hamden, and Evan Moyher of Seymour.Jo-Ann lived her 71 years of life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, going out to dinner and visiting the casino with her loving husband. Her favorite place to vacation was Disney World, and she made several trips with her grandchildren. Every Sunday morning Jo-Ann could be found in her kitchen making spaghetti sauce for the family before attending mass at Our Lady of Grace church where she was a parishioner for over 40 years. Her summer evenings were spent voraciously routing for the New York Mets. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. A heartfelt thanks to all of the compassionate people who helped Jo-Ann during her struggle with breast cancer especially the nurses and staff of the 9th Floor South and Anne Ballas and the Radiology Department of St. Vincent's Hospital, and Mary Spata and the staff at Vitas. Jo-Ann's strength and courage battling her illness serves as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Friday August 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home 2611 Main St. Stratford.
