Jean Vivian Kluun, age 89, of Stratford passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Melius Van de Bogart, Jean was born in Sharon, CT on December 2, 1925. Jean was the widow of John Kluun, and as a military family they traveled throughout the U.S. and parts of the world during his career while raising their children. She is survived by her 4 loving children: David Kluun of Plant City, FL; Barbara Babcock and her husband William of Milford; Sandra Kluun of Stratford; and Kathy Gearing and her husband Robert of Bridgeport. She is also survived by her brother Charles Van de Bogart of Verbank, NY; her sister Joyce Van de Bogart of Wassaic, NY; her grandchildren: Kerry Babcock, Shelley Babcock, Jason Babcock, Brian Babcock and Christopher Kluun; as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Madison, Bridget, Aidan, Noah, Jason and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Stratford United Methodist Church with Pastor Simeon Law officiating. She will be buried with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. at a later date.
