Janit Ortiz-Bischoff, age 57 of Ridgefield passed away peacefully on Thursday March 27, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Bronx, NY on April 24, 1956, Janit was the daughter of Conchita Robles Ortiz and the late John Ortiz. She was an administrative assistant before her illness. Survivors in addition to her mother include  a beloved son, Barrett W. Bischoff and his father Michael Bischoff, two brothers, John Ortiz of New Milford and Joseph M. Robert of New Hampton, NY, a sister Vivian Peltz of Stonypoint, NY and several nieces and nephews. Freinds are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in Faith Church, 600 Danbury Rd. New Milford, CT with Pastor Dan Totilo, officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery, Ridgefield. Visiting hours will be held at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 am prior to services.
