Janis Lynn
Stasko
Apr 25, 1958 — Aug 1, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce that Janis Stasko, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 1st at the age of 65 at St. Vincent's Hospital. Janis was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 25, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha Fournier. She grew up in Stratford where she attended Bunnell High School and later married the love of her life and husband of 46 years William Stasko Jr. whom she devoted her life to along with her three sons William, Steven, and Bryan.
Janis enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved and cherished. She is survived by her sons William III of Norwich, Steven and his wife Jamie of Shelton, and her youngest son Bryan. She had nine grandchildren whom she loved and cherished: William IV, Charlie, Alexander, Paige, Avery, Samantha, Rebecca, Amanda and Alana. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters Debra Phillips of Beacon Falls, Donna Hricz of Seymour, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones. She was also predeceased by her sister Ellayne Doherty.
Janis enjoyed the simple things in life – cooking and baking for her adored husband, her love of her animals, her favorite time of year was always Christmas and giving gifts to loved ones, watching birds, and listening to nature, meals shared with family, going to the casino, reality TV and shows from her youth, as well as relaxing while playing games on her iPad.
Janis left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled and is gone way too soon.
