Jane Auth Sampson, age 88, of Stratford passed away at her home on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Born in Bridgeport on June 25, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Maximilian and Grace Sherburn Auth. She was a graduate of Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine. After graduation she taught at Helen King Reynolds Preschool in Stratford before becoming a full time mother. In her later years she became a swim instructor teaching young children at the YMCA, a job she loved. She was very active in her church for many years, singing in the choir, serving on the altar guild and as a reader.

Jane is survived by her three children, Thomas (Debbie) Sampson, James (Susan) Sampson, and Barbara Sampson, two grandchildren, Ashley Sampson and Myra (Scott) Heitman and two great grandchildren, Henry Heitman and Alice Heitman, her niece Laura Clark Axom and nephew Chris Sampson. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty one years, Thomas Sampson, their daughter Elizabeth, her parents and her two sisters Alva (William) Clark and Margaret Auth and her nephew William Clark.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28th at 10:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church,Nichols, CT. It is at Jane's request that no one wear black, but rather dress in bright colors as this is a celebration of her life.
