James Scott Tiberio, age 54 of Stratford passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on January 17, 1971, he was a son of Linda Scott Bott and her husband John of Stratford.
Jim received his bachelor's degree from UConn and was employed at Chase Bank in Stratford where he was a banker for many years. Prior to banking, Jim was an accomplished mortgage broker. He had a love for cars and motorcycles, and was an avid sports fan of his beloved Red Sox and New York Giants. Jim was a devoted father to his boys, Braden and Josh, having spent countless hours teaching and coaching them in their sports, especially baseball. Jim was dedicated to the Stratford Baseball Association, where he served on the board as vice president for many years.
In addition to his parents Linda and John Bott, he is survived by his sons; Braden and Josh Tiberio both of Stratford, his sister and best friend, Amy Bott of Stratford, brothers, Roger (Jodi) Tiberio of Woodstock, GA, Troy (Nancy) Bott, John Bott, and sister, Jill Tiberio. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kevin (Angela) Bott, Jake and Kadee Tiberio and Stephanie Bott and her son Carter, his aunt, Janet (Ken) Hobocan, and step-mother, Dolores Tiberio. He will be sadly missed by all his family, friends, baseball family, coworkers and loving dog, Lola. He was predeceased by his father, Roger Tiberio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Stratford with Fr. Peter Adamski officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Friends may greet the family on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford.
