Iris Margarita Bonilla, age 67, of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Iris was the beloved daughter of Angel and Brunilda, and a loving sister to Sylvia, Edward, Angelo, and Lisette. She was joyfully reunited in heaven with her cherished baby brother, Anthony and sister Betty.

Iris attended George Wingate High School and dedicated many years of service to the Charities Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office, retiring in 2020. A devoted and proud mother to Nestor Jr., Nicholas, and Ashley, Iris found her greatest joy in her grandchildren—Tayshawn, CJ, Izayah, and Aminah. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family of Bonillas, Lagareses, and Garcias, all of whom she adored.

Iris was loving and fiercely supportive of everyone who knew her. She had a special gift for offering thoughtful advice and uplifting others in moments of need. Guided by her faith, she lived her life with grace, compassion, and unwavering loyalty to her family. She was a constant source of strength and comfort, always reminding her loved ones that they were never alone.
