Helene Skorik, age 89 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at her home. She was the widow of Boris Skorik. Born on April 24, 1928 in Dubno, Poland she was the daughter of the late Jean Clement Pouchtajevitch and Lyubov Porochina Pouchtajevitch. Helene grew up in France and spoke Russian and French and mastered English when she immigrated to the United States in 1956. She was an avid reader and faithful to her Church, St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Stratford. Helene leaves behind her loving children; Daniel C. Skorik and his wife Erena of Guilford, Elizabeth Brouard of FL, and Lili (Ludmila) Borisovna Skorik of Stratford, also her grandchildren; Monique Burt, Martinique Brouard, Tamara Brouard, Gislaine Saucerman, Alexandra Arahna, and Christian Skorik, as well as seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 1 Honeyspot Rd., Stratford.
