Hector L. Baez Rivera
December 16, 1960 - December 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hector L. Baez Rivera, age 65, of Bridgeport, who entered eternal rest on Monday, December 22, 2025 in his home surrounded by his beloved wife, Nydia Rodriguez, and his sister-in-law, Luz Flores. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Hector was the cherished son of the late Lucia Rivera and Julio Baez.

Hector's life was defined by his love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. He is survived by his loving wife, Nydia Rodriguez; his children, Luis Andres, Hector Luis, Jennifer Baez Gonzalez, Grissell Lopez Febus, Maria Rodriguez, and son-in-law Carlos L. Febus; as well as his adored grandchildren, including Paris Isabella Colon, Anthony L. Febus and Angel M. Febus. Hector is also survived by his siblings, Carmen, Socorro, Carmen M., and Mercedes. He was predeceased by his son, Jimmy S. Almodovar, his mother-in-law, Luz Garcia, and siblings Pedro, Andres, Emilio, and Cantalicia. Hector is also remembered by a wide circle of friends and family whose lives he touched.

Throughout his career, Hector worked in the construction industry, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, cooking, playing music, and sharing laughter with friends. Hector had an easygoing nature, always taking the time to ask about others and offer a kind word. His warmth and generous spirit made him a joy to be around, and his caring heart never went unnoticed.

Hector was a devoted family man who would do anything to support those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, as they continue to carry his love and lessons with them.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 5, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.  A funeral service will be held on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
