Harold T. Capasso, age 91, died Thursday April 16, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was the widower of Arline Caine Capasso who died in 1993 after 46 years of marriage. He was born in Bridgeport on December 16,1923, the son of Michael and Anna Capasso. Harold was retired from the US Baird Corporation were he was employed as a machinist. He served in the US Army during WWII as saw combat in North Africa and Italy. He was awarded The Bronze Star, Purple Heart, CIB and ETO Campaign Medals. He was wounded May 11, 1944 in Santa Marin, Italy by German machine gun fire. After retiring in 1990 he spent time golfing and going to the Baldwin Center. He is survived by 3 children and their spouses; Michael (Gita) Capasso of Stratford, James (Lisa) Capasso of Stratford and Mary Ellen ( Michael) Delzell of Beaver Dams, NY. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, James (Nicole), Daniel and Jesse Capasso, Luke (Laura) Delzell, Arnold and Kimberley Ramjattan and Alana (Bernie) Gonzalez, great grandchildren, Luke, Haliegh, Michael Delzell, Asher Capasso and Antoinio Hernandez. He is survived by a sister, Eleanor Frouge and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Harold was predeceased by a brother, Anthony and 3 sisters, Isabella, Terasa and Anna and a grandson Michael Delzell. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Birenda Soreng. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
