Gladys Marie Walls, age 95 of Stratford went to be with the Lord, August 10, 2013 at Lord Chamberlain Heath Care. She was the widow of Bertram Stanley Walls. Born in Bridgeport on July 9, 1918 she was a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Faulkner Kokel. Gladys was a graduate of Stratford High School, Class of 1936 and at her death was the oldest living life long member of Stratford Baptist Church. During WWII, Gladys worked for G.E. in the radar division. After her marriage in 1945, she and Bertram started and owned the Vet Dinette Service, a Industrial Catering & Vending Business, they retired in 1974. She is survived by her loving children; Barbara Mae Ransdall, Stuart Edward Walls and his wife Caroline and Dennis Bertram Walls and his wife Suzanne. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband she was predeceased by her sister; Dorothy McAuliffe and brother; Louis Kokel. Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Lakeview Cemetery on Boston Ave. Bridgeport, with Pastor Robert Genevicz officiating, followed by a reception at the Stratford Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
