Gertrude M. (Richitelli) Carey, 95, of Stratford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on July 14, 2024.  She was the loving wife of the late George J. Carey for 56 years.  She was also predeceased by six siblings. Gertrude is survived by her sister, Ernestine Wisniewski and her five children; daughters, Patricia Carey and Tracey Sotil, sons, George (Karin), Thomas (Lauren) and Robert (Martha) Carey.  Gertrude is also survived by her grandchildren; Tobin (Kaitlyn) Sotil, Kelsey (Andrew) McMahon and Tristan Sotil and his fiancée Gabriella Russo, Jason Carey, Jaclyn (Scott) Leutze and their daughter Piper, Irene Wetmore, Kevin Carey and Kristin Richards. The light in her life, and enormous enjoyment, came from being "GG" to her great-grandchildren; Westerly, Rowan and Delaney Sotil and Harrison McMahon.

Funeral services will be held privately.
