George F. Sherman Jr., age 62, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Elaine Sherman.

Born in Derby on October 8, 1954 he was a son of the late George F. Sherman Sr. and Michaeline (Karkut) Sherman. George was a lifelong resident of Shelton and enjoyed trips to Massachusetts, being outdoors, cooking and gardening.

In addition to his wife Elaine he is survived by his three sons, Chris, Michael and Tommy Sherman, his brothers Walter J. Sherman and his wife Noreen, Kevin H. Sherman and his wife Susan, John J. Sherman and his wife Debbie, his sister Debra Ann Cole and her husband Ronald, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford, with Deacon Raymond Chervenak officiating.
