George Krikorian, age 103, of Stratford passed away on April 29, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. George was born in Bridgeport, the son of John and Anne Krikorian. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Harry and his wife Mae, and Leo and his wife Mary, his grand nephew and best friend, Daryl Jevarjian. He is survived by his nephew Dr. John Krikorian and his wife Joan of Chatham, NJ, niece Dorothy and her husband Richard Noreiks of Stratford, nephew, Leo Krikorian of Boston, MA and niece Patti Fowler and her husband, Harold Knudsen of Beaufort, NC and several grand nephews grand nieces, great grand nephews and nieces. George was a member of the first graduating class from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport. After several years in the accounting department at Bridgeport Brass Company, George joined his father and brothers at John's Market in Bridgeport until it's closing in 1971. For the next two decades, he worked as a butcher in various local markets. In retirement, George remained active tending to his home and garden and the flowers at the Armenian Church, lunching with his friends at the Blue Goose Restaurant, and visiting family and friends in his 1971 Cadillac " The Green Machine". George found comfort in these years with his family and his church. The highlight was the celebration of his 100th birthday with 100 of his family and friends. To one and all, he will always be remembered as "Uncle George". Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, 1460 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
