George Charles Brown Sr., age 78 of Stratford passed away peacefully on May 22, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport he was the son of the late Edgar and Alice Gilmore Brown. George was a U.S. Marine serving his country during the Korean War and was a supervisor for UPS for twenty five years before his retirement. He enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and traveling to all the islands. He was a loving gentlemen who cared about everyone, especially his children, grandson and great grandson who survive him. Survivors include his devoted companion of thirty five years, Olympia LaConte, his beloved children, George C. Brown Jr, John K. Brown , Robert E. Brown and Laurie Brown, grandson, Henry Brown and great grandson, Logan. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford, with Rev. Scott Lee, Pastor of Christ Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport.
