Gary Peter Hamilton, age 77 of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. Born in New Haven, CT, he was a son of the late Arley E.II and Jeannette (Crossland) Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol (Buzak) Hamilton.
After graduating from Milford High School in 1964, he proudly served in the US Navy in Key West, FL. After returning to CT he became a master electrician. Gary was employed by Bic Pen where he had worked for 30 years. Gary was a man of many talents. He was a master electrician, a machinist, tree cuter and had a talent to fix just about anything that had been broken. He enjoyed working on different projects around the home and working on things for his friends. He was also the dedicated caregiver to his wife for many years. In earlier years he enjoyed annual summer camping trips with his family.
In addition to this wife, he is survived by his son Michael Hamilton (Liz) of Stratford, CT, daughter Cheryl Ventriglia (Bruce) of Shelton, CT, grandsons Jacob Hamilton and Bailey Jasko both of Stratford, CT, great grandson Ashton Jasko of Stratford, CT, his sister Amy Jean Van Arsdale of Milford, CT, his brother Danny Hamilton (Alisyn) of Gaylordsville, CT, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, one great great niece, many lifelong friends and grand dogs Duke and Nate. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Arley E. Hamilton III.
Friends may greet the family on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford. A service will take place at 3:00pm.
