Gale Wolynec Whittemore, age 81 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven. She was the widow of Frederick Whittemore. Born in New Milford, New Jersey on March 20, 1935 she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Bredoli Wolynec and had graduated from Montpelier High School and Vermont Junior College. Gale had worked as the plant hospital administrator at Sikorsky Aircraft and retired as the benefits administrator after 40 years with company. She was very active at the First Congregational Church in Stratford was on the Board of Directors for the National Helicopter Museum. She is survived by her brother, James Wolynec and his wife Ardith of Rutland, VT and nieces and nephews; Rachel Whittemore Mahfuz, Dr. Gregory (Lisa) Wolynec, Scott (Gretchen) Wolynec and Stephen Wolynec. She is also survived by her cousins; Judy Madore, Lesley Poirer, Douglas McLeod and John McLeod. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church, 2301 Main Street, Stratford with Rev. Meg Williams and Rev. Ed Rawls officiating. Inurnment will take place on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, VT.
