Obituary

Frederick Whittemore, age 86 of Stratford passed away on June 24, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Montpelier, VT and was a graduate Montpelier High School class of 1948. He was the son of the late Leo F. and Edna Matheson Whittemore and was an U.S. Army Veteran Third Division of the Korean War. Frederick was an aircraft mechanic crew chief for Sikorsky Aircraft for 35 years before his retirement and a member of the American Legion, Barre, VT Post 10, the Senior Men's Club at the Baldwin Center, a board member of the of the National Helicopter Museum in Stratford and a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Stratford. Survivors include his beloved wife Gale Wolynec Whittemore of Stratford,, brother in law, James (Ardith) Wolynec of Rutland, VT, niece, Rachel Mahfuz , nephews, Dr. Gregory (Lisa) Wolynec, Scott (Gretchen) Wolynec and Stephen Wolynec.He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Whittemore. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 am. in the First Congregational Church, 2301 Main St. Stratford with Rev. Meg Williams, officiating. Burial will be held in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, VT at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Friday July 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford.
