Frederick William Ashcroft Jr., age 83, of Stratford passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 6, 1940 he was the son of Frederick William Ashcroft Sr. and Edna (Foster) Ashcroft. Fred loved spending time with his children, granddaughters and many friends and family.

He is survived by his sons Frederick Ashcroft III of Stratford and Brian (Kim) Ashcroft of Milford, his daughter Trudi Soumari of Stratford, his sister June Johnson of Milford, sister-in-law Peggie Quinn, cherished granddaughters Hailey and Hayden Ashcroft, his nephews Billy Johnson, Edward (Lexi) Quinn, nieces Susan (Matt) Wollon and Karyn (Brian) Shuell, several great nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Weaver Ashcroft, his parents and brothers-in-law Bill Johnson and John Quinn.

Friends and family may greet the family on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Dennis & D'Arcy-Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
