Frank Mangiacopra, age 87, of Derby, beloved husband of Barbara Rossi Mangiacopra passed away peacefully at Griffin Hospital on Saturday January 30, 2016. Born in Bridgeport he was the son of the late Antonio and Adeline Caroline Mangiacopra. He served his country proudly while in the U.S. Marine Corp and retired from Bridgeport Machine after 18 years of service. Frank loved sports and enjoyed softball and bowling. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants Football team. Survivors in addition to his wife Barbara of 56 years include 2 devoted sons; Frank Mangiacopra and his wife Karen of Shelton and Louis Mangiacopra of Boca Raton, FL, 3 loving grandchildren, Vincent (Kelsie) Mangiacopra, Christine Mangiacopra and Jennifer (Jason) Plante and a great grandson, Owen Anthony Mangiacopra and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home following the visitation officiated by Deacon Raymond Chervenak.
