Frank James Figerle Jr.., age 72, of Stratford, passed away at Bridgeport Hospital on Monday, December 29, 2025, following a short illness.
Born in Bridgeport on September 8, 1953, Frank was the son of the late Frank James Figerle Sr. and Florence Murphy Figerle. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army achieving the rank of Sergeant and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. After completing his Army career, he went on the become a skilled A.S.E. Auto Mechanic and electronics was his specialty. After retirement, his interests were many and varied, he was well known among family and friends for his culinary skill, he also loved photography and fresh water fishing, and did the most amazing container gardening ever, producing abundant fresh vegetables and gorgeous flowers, a man with two green thumbs! He was also extremely computer literate and his love of cats was well known. He was also a man of great faith, with his bible always at the ready and he was a member of Nichols United Methodist Church. We thank Reverend Albert Hanh for ministering to Frank. Frank was known not only for his strength and principles, but also for his genuine love for others. He was always willing to go above and beyond for those around him, offering his time, support, and care without hesitation. Whether through quiet acts of generosity or unwavering loyalty, Frank made people feel valued and never turned away when someone needed help. His charity of choice was St. Judes, his compassion for children evident in that selection.
Survivors include his loving older sister Maureen (Figerle) Cawthra and her husband Alfred, of Stratford, his beloved favorite aunt Elaine (Figerle) Seltenrich and her husband Richard, his favorite cousin Teri (Seltenrich) Columna and her husband Jose and his cousin Rich Seltenrich, Jr. Survivors also include his favorite nephew Antonio Henriques and his wife Lisa and their daughter Allison, who Frank absolutely adored as he was her Great Uncle.
