Francesco D'Urso, age 68, of Stratford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness on Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Donata "Tina" Loizzi D'Urso.

Born in Toritto Bari Italy on January 2, 1957, Frank was a son of the late Michele D'Urso and Teresa Cavaluzzi. He moved here when he was 19 after he met our mother and 40 days later, they were married. He has been a pizza man/chef since he came to this country and was a well-known employee of Jerry's Pizza in Stratford and owner of Jerry's Pizza #2 on Main St. in Bridgeport. He is a long time Stratford resident since 1989. The "Elm St. Mayor" is what the neighborhood called him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend whose greatest joy came from time spent with family, cooking, and gardening.

Francesco leaves behind Tina, his loving wife of 49 years, two children, Teresa and her husband Joe, and Rocco and his wife Lina, and two grandchildren, Rocco Francesco and Cecilia Marie.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Stratford, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

The family kindly asks friends to refrain from sending flowers at this time and to do an act of kindness in Francesco's memory instead.
