With family and friends by her side, Evelyn Chiasson left this world on August 5, 2018.

Born January 21, 1940, the daughter of Josephine Scalzi Figurilli and Leonard Figurilli, Evelyn grew up in Bridgeport CT where she attended Harding High School & was a member of the cheerleading squad.

After high school, Evelyn went on a date with a new boy in the neighborhood , Charles Edward 'Eddie' Chiasson, who she later married and with whom she had two sons.

Upon returning to the workforce, Evelyn embarked on a 35 year career in banking which saw her rise from a teller position to a vice presidency.

Although dedicated to her work, Evelyn's true passion in life was her family, and her home in Stratford became the site of most family functions. Evelyn was blessed with two grandchildren who became the apples of her eye, and with whom she never missed a chance to spend time, be it at home, while out for a happy meal or a trip to Disney.

As her grandchildren grew up, Evelyn found new recipients for her affection when she became active in animal rescue. She opened her heart & home to a series of rescue dogs while serving as a foster parent. Evelyn nurtured and provided a home for these dogs until permanent homes for them could be found. One exception was a Siberian Husky named Josie, who she adopted. Josie became a surrogate grandchild, and spent the rest of her life as a loyal and spoiled companion to Evelyn.

Evelyn is survived by her sister Irene Boynton of Brevard NC, and her two sons: Edward Chiasson of Stratford CT, and Leonard Chiasson of Florida, his wife Doris, their two children; Kyle Chiasson and Susan Fellah.
