Elizabeth Ann (Doyle) Rooney of Lordship, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John P Rooney Sr. Elizabeth was born on October 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. She has been a resident of Stratford, Connecticut for 47 years, and was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Peace in Lordship. She will be remembered for her sweet and caring demeanor, all of her beautiful qualities, and of course her red hair. Elizabeth loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed all the little things in life. She is survived by her loving children Susan Anderson, Kerry Rooney and John Rooney and his wife Monica Rooney whom all reside in Stratford. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren Molly, Collin, Morgan, Margaux, and Harrison, as well as her loving sister Dolores Oehl and her sister in law Anne Faughey and her husband Gene, along with her many adoring nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
