Eleanor "Toots" S. DeMott, age 88 of Bridgeport, CT died peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Masonicare at Newtown. Eleanor was born on April 18, 1927 in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Elwood and Hazel (Barthelmess) DeMott.
Eleanor lived in Success Village in Bridgeport most of her life and worked for General Electric in the printing and advertising department for 36 years until her retirement. After retirement Eleanor enjoyed traveling and went on several trips to Europe. In 2009 Eleanor moved to Teresian Towers, a retirement community, in Trumbull.
She is survived by her sister in law, Patricia DeMott of Uncasville, CT, three nephews; Curt DeMott and wife Eileen of Sandy Hook, Glenn DeMott and wife Diana of Old Lyme, George Stevens of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one niece, Gayle Hartman of Lodi, NJ. One grand niece, Tami Brandle and husband Rich; several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Dorothy Cieszkowski and Lorretta Norman; and two brothers, Elwood DeMott and George DeMott.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford with Rev. Simeon Law officiating. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
