Dorothy Mildred Bergen, age 99, of Seymour, died peacefully on February 3, 2017 at Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour. She was the widow of Bernard Bergen. Mrs. Bergen was born October 21, 1917 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late William J. and Kate Louise Barton. She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and employed by Textron Corp for ten years. Dorothy was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves her children, Barbara (James) Lombard of Derby, Linda Sautter of Oxford, a grandson, Robert Sautter of San Francisco, CA, and a nephew William Barton and family of Maryland. She was predeceased by her son, Robert, her sister Muriel, her brother, Raymond and her grandson, John. Her family would like to acknowledge her friend and roommate, Jane Tuttle and to thank the staff at Shady Knoll for their compassionate care.

Private services will take place at the discretion of the family at her beloved Christ Church in Stratford. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
