Dorothy I. Bunting Bigelow, age 93. of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Kenneth H. Bigelow passed away in the restful arms of the Lord on April 21, 2015 unexpectedly at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. She was born in Stratford on January 19, 1922 to the late Susan and Thomas Bunting. Dorothy was a graduate of Stratford High School and a life long Stratford resident. She worked as a secretary at General Electric until her husband returned home from WWII. Then she was a homemaker. She was a caring person who loved being around family. She has been a member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church for many years. Dorothy is survived by her nieces and nephews: Audrey Paray, Robert Hanson, Susan Rubega, Scott Paray, Sharon Lanser and her children, John, Karen, Katie and James; Pamela and Lauren D'Arrigo, Clifford and Craig Bunting, Alan ( Maria), James, Robert, Keith and Gary Bigelow, Pattie Hurley, Sandra Ruskin and John Vangor. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Hanson and brothers, Thomas and Norman Bunting. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday April 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford with Rev. Jake Zampier of the Calvary Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services.
