Diane Rita Salamon (nee Cockerill) entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2023.  She was born on September 10, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT to John E. Cockerill and Phyllis Cockerill (nee Moleski).  She graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT, continuing her education at Southern CT State University with a Masters in English then starting her career as a teacher.  She taught at Mohegan Elementary School and Booth Hill School in Shelton, CT.  She also taught for two years at Holy Name of Jesus School in Stratford, CT.  Diane had a passion for traveling, seeing many places in the United States and in Europe, and twice to Tangiers in Morrocco, Africa, passing this trait on to family and friends. Her other hobbies included ceramics, decorating for the holidays, gardening, feeding the birds, crocheting, and online shopping.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James R. Salamon, her son Jay Salamon and his family, her daughter Jamie Salamon, and three dogs Bam-Bam, Max, and Milo.
