Constance Jean Woodward Geiste, age 100, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Ludlowe Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Fairfield, CT on September 9, 2026. She was the widow of Thomas R. Geiste and was a Stratford, CT resident for over 70 years.

Born in Greenfield, MA, raised in Bridgeport, CT, and a 1945 graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connie was the daughter of the late Roy C. Woodward and late Ruth Elizabeth Woodward McNulty. She was also predeceased by a brother, Phillip R. Woodward, a sister, Elizabeth Woodward Baxter, and daughter-in-law Lynn Muller Geiste. In her early years, Connie worked as a telephone operator at Southern New England Telephone Company in Bridgeport, and later as a crossing guard for the Stratford Police Department at St. James School. She very much enjoyed being with the kids of St. James School. Connie was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Stratford for many years.

Connie loved her family and would mention that often. She most enjoyed family gatherings, taking care of her rose garden, her dogs Cookie and Ginger, taking cruises with husband Tom, and traveling to Ireland and Hawaii with her daughter Connie and her husband Bob. She often spoke of the wonderful times growing up on the south end of Bridgeport, Bassick High School, spending time with friends at Pleasure Beach, and her close childhood relationship with her sister Betty.

Connie is survived by her daughter Connie Geiste Gabor (Robert), sons Roy Geiste (Mariane Morin), and Douglas Geiste (Janice), grandchildren Erin, Allison, Gretchen, Eric, Nicholas, Kyle and Ryan, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
