Charles William Cornelius, age 93, of Stratford, husband of the late Dorothy Marie Sahlin Cornelius, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Charles W. Cornelius and Annie C. Madson Cornelius, and was a retired Machinist for American Chain & Cable. A life-long Stratford resident, Charles enjoyed woodworking and furniture repair, watching old Western movies, camping, and boating.

Survivors include his beloved children: a son, Craig William Cornelius of Stratford; a daughter, Lynn Joyce Cornelius and her husband Robert E. (Ted) DePatie Jr. of Scituate, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Earl Cornelius and sister Myrtle Cornelius.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford, CT 06615, with a service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Simeon Law. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
