Carrie Ann Moore, age 88, passed away peacefully in her residence on June 27, 2020. Carrie Ann was born on April 4, 1932 in Greenwich to David Chase Sr. and Ethel (Richards) Chase. Carrie Ann was married to Augustus Moore Jr. for 56 years who preceded her in death.
Ann was a graduate of Greenwich High School where she found an interest in fashion and design, and was awarded for her shoe designs. Ann had many interests that included painting, bowling, and golf. She was known for her green thumb and her love of orchids. Ann was also a great cook receiving many requests through the years from family and friends for her fried chicken and cole slaw among her many dishes, but most of all her friends and family recall the all day cookouts that she was known for having at Tods Point and Bruce Park of Greenwich and most recently at her former home in Norwalk CT. Ann was a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church of Greenwich, CT where she was a faithful member of the usher board.
Carrie Ann is survived by her son David G. Moore of Chinle, AZ, two daughters Robin A. Moore of Newark, DE, and Kymber C. Moore of Norwalk, CT. Two granddaughters Stephanie T. Moore and Kaitlyn C. Moore both of San Diego, CA. Carrie Ann also leaves behind her great-granddaughter Olivia Kate Gross and her daughter in law Roberta Moore also of San Diego. Of all of Ann's treasures it was her family that she loved the most. Carrie Ann was predeceased by her brother David Chase Harding and his wife Willa Fenny Harding both of Stratford, CT, as well as Pearl Hendry, Mildred Lewis, Lester Moore and Romaine Jenkins all of Coatesville, PA. and Nita Miller formerly of Ambler, PA. Carrie leaves behind two sisters-in-law Marjorie Elliott and Shelia Moore also of Coatesville, PA. Carrie leaves behind her most trusted and loyal friend Janice Mohamed and very special god-daughter Lisa Harding as well as a host of nephews, nieces and longtime family friends.
Viewing for the immediate family and close personal friends will be Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 9am-11am followed immediately by funeral service at the Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home in Stratford, CT.
