Caroline Mary Butts, age 40 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at CT Hospice in Branford surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bridgeport on May 31, 1975, a daughter of Catherine McGurn Butts of Stratford and Ivan Butts Jr. of South Carolina. She was a graduate of Stratford High School and had worked at Xpect Discount Store until her illness. In addition to her parents, Carey is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Ashley Butts and her brother, Ivan Butts, her maternal grandmother, Mary McGurn all of Stratford. She is also survived by her uncle; Richard and Anne McGurn and their children; Melissa, James, Patrick (Laurie), Kathleen and Molly McGurn. She is also survived by her life long best friend, Jill Tanner. The hours of visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 3 to 6 pm at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. A prayer service will take place at the funeral Home at 6:00 PM with Deacon Raymond Chervenak officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
