Bradford "Brad" H. Chaffee, age 66, of Trumbull, CT, passed away Sunday, July 14th, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.

Brad was born to Bradford and Dorothy Chaffee on December 14th, 1957 in Bridgeport, CT. He graduated from Trumbull High School in 1975 and went on to pursue his talent as a mechanic at Fruitrich Cadillac-Oldsmobile in Bridgeport, CT, after obtaining his General Motors Training Certificate in Tarrytown, NY. Several years later, Brad accepted an Experimental Mechanic position at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT, where he worked until his retirement in January of 2024.

Working on cars was one of Brad's many interests. He enjoyed time in his garage, working on his beloved 1969 Pontiac GTO and his 1932 Ford pickup. Brad also enjoyed fixing his friend's cars, expecting nothing in return, because that's just how generous he was. When Brad wasn't in his garage, he was going to rock concerts, classic car shows, and drag races with his friends and his 'girls.'

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Bradford. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Chaffee, his daughters, Madeline Martinez (Matt) and Kimberly Chaffee (Will), his 'chick,' Aline Aslanian, his sister, Pamela Malamphy (Jay), and many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Brad will always be remembered by his sense of humor, utmost generosity, and his ability to make anyone, especially his daughters, feel proud of their accomplishments. Visiting hours will take place on Friday, July 26th, 2024 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm with a Memorial Service to follow, at Dennis & D'Arcy Funeral Home located at 2611 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brad's name to Nichols Improvement Association, Attn: Treasurer, 1773 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull, CT 06611, as Brad spent most of his childhood at Frog Pond in Nichols. Donations may also be made to St. Vincent's Swim Across the Sound. The family also requests that you have an ice cold Budweiser in Brad's honor.
