Bernice W. See, age 98 of Shelton passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton. Born in Bridgeport on December 10, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Elmer G. Wilcox and Mae C. Caswell Wilcox. Bernice had worked as waitress at the Bard Restaurant in Stratford and then as the Hostess at the Barnum Hotel Coffee Shop. She retired as a sales represenitive at D.M. Reeds. Bernice's legacy of never having a bad word to say about anyone and being a loving person to all, will leave her missed by her loving family. She is survived by her sons; Everett (Mike) Chaffee and his wife Carole of Huntington and Bradford W. Chaffee and his wife Dorothy of Naples, FL and sister, Janet Petrucelli and her husband Anthony of Shelton. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Bradford H. Chaffee, Pamela M. Malamphy, William Chaffee and John Chaffee along with several nieces and nephews especially her nephew David Beaty. She was predeceased by her siblings; Norman Wilcox, Dorothy Nash and Adelaide Beaty. A service in her memory will be announced at a later date. There will be no prior calling hours and her interment will be held privately at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
