Barbara (Raymond) Perham, 95, passed away peacefully September 15, 2017 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John E. Perham Sr.
Barbara was born in New Haven, CT on December 23, 1921, the daughter of Wilbur and Anna Raymond. She was co-owner and operator with her late husband of John E. Perham Opticians in Fairfield, CT for many years. She was also a member of the Tashua Knolls golf league and the Trumbull women's bowling league. She and her late husband resided in Trumbull, CT for many years before moving to Litchfield, CT.
Barbara leaves a son, John E. Perham Jr. and his wife Judith of Cheshire, CT, a sister, Mrs. Jane Knecht of Trumbull, CT, granddaughters Jill Davenport and her husband Bill of Litchfield, Jennifer Mello and her husband Rob of Litchfield, grandsons Scott Perham and his wife Kristen of Bristol and Glenn Perham of Nashville, TN. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren Megan and Allie Davenport, Peyton and Carson Mello and Zephyr Perham. She was predeceased by her loving husband John and a son, Robert W. Perham (U.S. Navy), sisters Eleanor Marshall, Marjorie Grant, and Elizabeth Langhammer, brothers, Robert (Butts) Raymond and Hank Raymond. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Rose Haven Nursing Facility in Litchfield, CT for their compassion and love they afforded her.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford CT 06615. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at Union Cemetery in Stratford.
