Augustus (Gus) Aquino, 79, Trumbull, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, with his loving family by his side. Gus is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Aquino, two beloved daughters, Dawn Marie Vega Garcia and Cathy Rauso both of Trumbull, beloved sons-in-law Alex Rauso and Alberto Vega Garcia, his pride and joy, his beloved grandchildren, Alex and Anthony Rauso, Mia Vega Garcia, Madison Robotti, sister and brother in law Stan and Sandra Sargent, many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friends Thelma, Nancy, Ralph, Maureen and Paulette, his special Men's Club friends and so many more friends and loved ones. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Catherine (Lumia) Aquino, brother Santino (Sonny) Aquino, and sisters, Anna Tarantino, Lillian Cuminotto, and Rosemarie Porto.

Gus was proud of his family and loved cooking and socializing, and playing BINGO, and his favorite canary, growing a garden, feeding his wild critter friends and watching the Yankees. His life was spent enjoying family, friends and food. He was proud of being President of the Men's Club of Stern Village and enjoyed every Wednesday morning with his buddies. Wherever Gus decided to go, the crowds soon followed. Gus was the life of the event. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. The family wants to give a special and heartfelt thank you to his dear doctors John Ayala and Dr. Kavitha Golpalratbam who spent many years caring for and comforting Gus during his illness. A special thank you to all of the Bridgeport Hospital MICU nurses and staff especially Karen, Daisy, Lauren and Emma who showed compassion to Gus.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Dennis & D'Arcy - Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull, followed by interment at Nichols Farm Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
