Obituary

Anthony John Dzujna, age 74, of Southbury, previously of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Anthony H. Dzujna and Helen L. Nemergut Dzujna. Anthony served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1961 and achieved the rank of Boiler Tender 3rd class. He was a District Human Resources Manager for United Parcel Service for twenty-five years before his retirement in 1985. While at UPS, he won various service awards and was named the first personnel manager of the Central New York District. He was a member of the USS Boston Shipmates. Anthony was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time and having dinner with his family and friends. He enjoyed taking long drives on the back country roads of New England and Canada, bike riding, cross-country skiing, playing pool, and going to the casino. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte M. Caseb Dzujna, his devoted children and their spouses, Michael A. and Helen Dzujna of Shelton, Christine A. Dzujna and her partner Myles Scherr of Stamford, and Andrea L. and Ward McKeen of North Easton, MA; a sister, Marie A. Yachymczyk of Bridgeport, two brothers and their wives, George J. and Christine Dzujna of Franklin, NH, and Andrew W. and Kathleen Dzujna of Stratford; four loving grandchildren, Hannah and William McKeen and David and Ella Dzujna, and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 (stjude.org).
