Obituary

Angelina Rizzo-Resner, age 90, passed away peacefully at 9:00 am on June 1st, 2017. Born November 19th, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Rachael Scoca-Rizzo and Vito Rizzo of New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York.
Angelina was a loving daughter, wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved her family deeply. Her smile, happiness, kind-heart, dancing feet and love of life will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Angelina (Angie) was a resident of Stratford and Shelton Connecticut. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her identical-twin sister, Michelina Rizzo-Resner. They were known to everyone as "The Twins". They married the Resner brothers, John and Edward of Pelham, New York, had a double wedding ceremony & honeymoon. The "Twins" were together for the birth of their daughters, Carolyn and Karen, who were born just one day apart.
Angie is survived by her loving children: Devoted daughter, Carolyn Madelon Resner-Novotny, and husband William L. Novotny of Oronoque Village, Stratford, Ct., and beloved eldest sister, Madeline Rizzo-Bollmann of Southbury, Ct.
She leaves behind her grandchildren: Mia Angelina Di Giovanni, John Anthony Capasso, John Resner III, Tanya Resner-Goddard, Shawn Resner-Clark, Jacqueline Lee Novotny, and fiancé Jon Crowe, Scott Taylor Novotny and great-grandchildren Zachary Hawke & Skyler Alexis Bender, Kristen Capasso, Christopher Resner, James Panuto Jr., Jada & Marina Clark and Ava Resner.
Angelina is pre-deceased by her husband, John Resner, Sr.; son, John Resner, Jr.; great-grandson Frank Resner-Clark; brother, Joseph Rizzo; sister Vincenza Rizzo-Groom; nephew Gordon Groom Jr. and sister Michelina Rizzo-Resner.
Angelina's request is to be cremated and her ashes to be placed in a marble Urn and combined with her husband John's ashes for all eternity.
A service will be held June 10th, 2017 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Oronoque Village North Clubhouse, 600 North Trail, Stratford, Ct. https://www.oronoquevillage.com/home-visitors/
