Andrew C. Fardy, 75, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Patricia Fardy, passed away December 12 in St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Andrew was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. He graduated from Harding High School. He was a rock-solid resident of the Upper East Side for decades.

After honorable service in the U.S. Navy, Andrew joined the Bridgeport Fire Department where he earned his stripes as an arson investigator during a period of intense neighborhood flareups. When he retired from the department, he went into the private sector taking his investigative skills to Travelers as an insurance investigator.

A lover of Bridgeport's parks, he served for many years on the Parks Commission where he dedicated the Carousel Building at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo. He was also a long-time member of the Democratic Town Committee in Bridgeport.

Andrew also volunteered for city youth programs including service as a coach at the local Little League.

In addition to his wife Patricia of 52 years, Andrew is survived by sons Shawn Fardy and wife Lori of Bridgeport and Seth Fardy and wife Julie of Naugatuck; brothers Thomas Fardy and Charles Fardy of Stratford; and grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Shawn, Jr., Brooklyn, Gretta, Lilly, Alexis and Joshua.

Friends may call on Sunday December 16, noon to 3:30 pm, followed by a service at Dennis & D'Arcy Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford.
