Alice Ruth Larsen Johnen, age 89 widow of Walter Merritt Johnen of Shelton previously of Norwalk and Greenwich passed away peacefully on January 7, 2015 at Bishop Wicke Health Care with her family at her side. Born in Greenwich she was the daughter of the late Jorge and Dagmar Larsen. Alice was a retired dental assistant for several dental offices in Greenwich and Darien. She was a member of the Danish Sisterhood, enjoyed homemaking and was a fabulous cook. With her husband she enjoyed concerts at the beach, the outdoors and spending time in Cape Cod with her family. Survivors include her beloved daughters; Judy G. Fanali and her husband Joseph of Monroe and Sandra Joy Johnen of Hamden, two loving grandchildren, Geoffrey S. Coleman and his wife, Letitia and Eric A. Coleman and his wife, Kara, two great grandchildren, Derrick and Gavin Coleman and several nieces and nephews. Friends and relative are invited to attend funeral services on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St. Stratford with the Rev. Robert Beinke, Pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, officiating. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to services.
