Alexandra D. Broadbent, age 54 of Bridgeport passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Bridgeport Hospital after a prolonged illness. Born in Bridgeport on November 11, 1960 she was the daughter of the late Arthur F. Broadbent and the late Luise K. Rumpler Broadbent. Lexy was a 1978 graduate of Central High School and went on to earn a degree in accounting from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. She was a social worker for the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services for over twenty-three years. Alexandra is survived by her sisters Christine Peck and husband Thomas of Houston, TX and Victoria Rasmussen and husband Edward of Trumbull, sister-in-law Karen Broadbent of Houston, TX, niece Shanna (Luigi) Peronace of Milford, nephews Steven Peck (Amy) of Denver,CO, Justin Hamilton (Laura) of League City, TX, Christopher Hamilton (Heather) of Mansfield, TX, Michael Broadbent (fiancée Lauren) of Dallas, TX and Steven Broadbent of Houston, TX. Aunt and uncle Florence and William Nielsen of West Hartford and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brother Wayne A. Broadbent. A memorial celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
